This policy explains how pulsenewsupdate.com handles information during its launch edition. It is a plain-language draft that is pending legal review, and we will date any changes we make. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
The short version
- We have no user accounts and no login.
- We show no ads and use no tracking or advertising cookies.
- We do not sell or share personal information.
- Features like bookmarks, theme and newsletter sign-up store data only in your own browser.
Data stored on your device
Our website uses your browser’s local storage, a small storage area on your own device, for a few features. It stores the stories you bookmark, your light or dark theme preference, desk preferences you set on your Profile page, and, if you use a newsletter sign-up form, the email address you entered. This information stays on your device. It is not sent to us. You can view and remove it on the Profile page, or delete it entirely by clearing site data in your browser settings.
The contact form
Our contact form does not submit data to a server. It opens your own email program with a pre-filled message. If you send it, we receive an ordinary email, which we use only to respond to you and keep only as long as needed for that purpose and our records.
Third-party resources
To display the site, your browser loads some resources from other services: web fonts and icons from a font provider, a styling library from a content delivery network, and illustrative images that may be hosted externally. When your browser requests these files, those providers can receive technical information such as your IP address and browser type, under their own privacy policies. We do not use them to track you, and we plan to host more of these files ourselves.
Read-aloud audio
Audio Daily uses the speech feature built into your browser or operating system. Depending on your device, that feature may be processed locally or by your device maker’s service.
Your rights
Because we hold almost no personal data, most requests can be handled by clearing your browser data. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, or have any other privacy question, write to [email protected]. If our practices change, for example when the newsletter launches, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
