Prince Harry’s U.K. visit may soon become a family affair after all.

Amid days of uncertainty surrounding the Sussexes’ travel plans, new reports indicate that Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are expected to travel to Britain later this week.

According to The Telegraph, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, will return to her husband’s homeland with their son, Prince Archie, 7, and daughter, Princess Lilibet, 5. However, Meghan and the children are not expected to make any public appearances.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes had no comment when reached by PEOPLE.

It will mark the full family’s first visit to England in four years. Then, they traveled from their California home, where the couple has lived since 2020 after stepping back from their royal roles, for events commemorating Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, marking her 70th year on the throne, in 2022.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were vacationing with their children in Europe before Harry, 41, arrived back in the U.K. solo on July 6. Although the couple was planning to bring their children on the trip, it was announced over the weekend that Meghan, Archie and Lilibet would not join Harry in London due to security concerns. However, they left open the possibility that they could return to the U.K. for parts of the trip outside the capital, and The Mirror reported on July 8 that Harry was “frantically” working to get private security so Meghan and their children could travel to the U.K.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s reported return to the U.K. opens the possibility of a rare reunion with their grandfather King Charles. While Archie was born in the U.K., Lili was born after the family moved to Meghan’s home state of California. She is believed to have only met her grandfather once, during her single visit to the U.K. in 2022.

A source told PEOPLE at the time that then-Prince Charles and the future Queen Camilla were delighted to spend time with his grandchildren during that trip.

“It was a fantastic visit. The prince was delighted to see his grandson and meet his granddaughter for the first time,” a royal source said at the time.

The source added, “It was very special to have some time with him. He hadn’t met Lilibet, his granddaughter, and so to meet her for the first time was very emotional — it was a wonderful thing.”

The landmark visit comes a year after Prince Harry told the BBC he “can’t see a world” in which he would bring his family back to his home country without the police protection he has long sought to have restored.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex lost their taxpayer-funded security in Britain after stepping back from their royal roles in the U.K. in 2020, and PEOPLE understands that a long-awaited review of Harry’s security by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) is still ongoing.

Despite an ongoing rift, Prince Harry told the BBC last year that he “would love reconciliation with my family.”

The Duke of Sussex has made many trips to the U.K. for charity work and court cases since moving to the United States in 2020. He last met with his father in person in September 2025.
