After Bear Brown confirmed that his older brother and Alaskan Bush People costar Matt Brown had died at age 42, younger brother Noah Brown is speaking out about recovering and identifying Matt’s body.

“For the past couple of days, I’ve been working with search and rescue groups, trying to locate the body,” Noah, another Alaskan Bush People personality, said in a video he uploaded to TikTok and Instagram on Saturday, May 30. “And today at 3:27, the group that I was working with located the missing body, and I identified it as Matthew. My oldest brother, Matthew Brown, has passed away.”

Noah said more details would come later with the release of the coroner’s report, and he thanked other people who joined in the search.

“I was there when we pulled him out of the river,’ Noah told followers. “We hauled him up off the bank, and then, after the sheriffs got there and everything, the coroner did his thing, and I went down to identify that it was him. It’s definitely Matthew. His ID and Social Security card [were] on him, and I was able to visually identify that it was Matthew.”

At the end of the video, Noah said, “Say your prayers and tell people that you love that you love them while you can. God bless.”

Earlier Saturday night, Bear said in an Instagram video that Noah and other searchers “found a body in the river a few hours ago, and it was positively identified as being Matt.”

Bear said, “I would have never suspected he would have hurt himself, honestly. He struggled for a long time, as I’ve mentioned, and I was so worried he was going to end up, like, OD’d or something like that. I didn’t think that he would hurt himself. It does look as though the injury is self-inflicted. Obviously, the coroner and stuff still has to look at him and stuff, but I thought that y’all guys should know that it is him.”
