Hidden Moments Before the Violence: Investigators Uncover New Clues in Deadly Party Incident That Claimed Young Man’s Life
A community has mourned a young man who was killed in a violent street disturbance in Logan.
Jongkuch Peter Kur Jongkuch Achieu, a 21-year-old man from Redbank Plains, died in hospital on Saturday from serious wounds he received during an “all-out brawl” in a suburban street.

A statement from his family was posted to a community group on Monday, advising he was attacked by “unknown individuals”.
“It is with a deeply saddened heart that I inform you of the passing of Jongkuch Peter Kur Jongkuch Achieu,” the statement read.
“Jongkuch was attacked by unknown individuals, and despite medical efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Saturday.”
“This is a life cut far too short, and a loss felt profoundly by all who knew and loved him.”
He was found by police called to the disturbance at a short-term rental house on Discovery Boulevard in the Logan suburb of Bahrs Scrub on Sunday, July 26.
He had significant head injuries after he was allegedly bashed in the fight that spilt onto the street.

By the time officers arrived, the aftermath of the disturbance stretched across the street.
Police said they found “significant damage” throughout the street, including to several cars and a home.
Mr Achieu was found nearby on Orchard Ave with significant head injuries.
He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, where he remained until his death on Saturday.
Several others who attended the party had also been taken to hospital with laceration-type injuries.

His community has described his death as “devastating” and that it signals a “big loss to our community.”
“Jongkuch will always be in our hearts and our prayers,” one user wrote under an announcement posted to Facebook.
“Jongkuch’s life was cut short in its prime, a promising future ahead of him,” another user said.

Some claimed they heard cars hooning through the street, while CCTV footage showed a man running through the backyard of a neighbouring house at around 2:47am.
Logan Crime Group Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said an “all-out brawl” broke out between two rival groups last week, with members aged between 18 and 21 years old.
A rival group member allegedly crashed the party which started the violence.
“This was a targeted attack and there is no ongoing threat to the wider community,” Inspector Galpin said.
“It appears to be a short-term accommodation rental property where some sort of party was occurring, and then at some stage in the night a second group arrived.
“Our inquiries suggest the second group was known to the occupants of the rental, and a conflict has begun, which kicked off quite a violent disturbance.”
