Emma Myers Shines in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 on Netflix
Most viewers met Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, the relentlessly upbeat foil to Jenna Ortega’s deadpan Wednesday Addams. That performance made her famous. The one she’s giving in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 may be the one that defines her.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2, all six episodes of which landed on Netflix on May 27, picks up where the British mystery series left off in 2024. Myers returns as Pip Fitz-Amobi, a teenage true-crime podcaster still processing the fallout from her first investigation into the murder of Andie Bell. Now 18, Pip is determined to stay out of trouble, until the key witness in a high-profile assault trial suddenly vanishes and she finds herself drawn back in.
The second season adapts Holly Jackson‘s novel Good Girl, Bad Blood, and this time Jackson co-wrote the scripts herself alongside showrunner Poppy Cogan. ‘I am BEYOND thrilled that we can continue Pip’s story,’ Jackson said in a statement. ‘We owe everything to the dedicated fans.’ Critics who were mixed on the first season are calling the second a significant improvement: tighter plotting, darker emotional stakes, and a performance from Myers that several reviewers are describing as a career-best.

What the new season gets right is the cost of being the person who always shows up. Pip’s curiosity isn’t played as a cute quirk anymore. It’s an obsession with real consequences for her mental health, her relationships, and the people she’s trying to protect. Myers carries that weight that Enid Sinclair, as beloved as that character is, simply doesn’t require of her.
The Season 2 cast adds Eden H. Davies as Jamie Reynolds, the missing young man whose disappearance drives the central mystery, alongside Jack Rowan and Misia Butler in key supporting roles. Zain Iqbal returns as Ravi, the emotional anchor who keeps Pip from completely losing herself in the investigation. Reviews note that the dynamic between the two leads is more layered this season, less about romantic tension and more about the weight two people carry when they know each other’s worst impulses.
Season 1 of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murderdebuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s global chart in the summer of 2024, accumulating 90 million hours watched in its first three weeks. The built-in audience returning for Season 2 is likely to find a show that has genuinely grown into itself, with a lead who was always more than a scene-stealer waiting for her moment.
