Hockey legend Claude Lemieux leaves behind his wife Deborah Lemieux, the mother of two of his four kids.

Deborah is active on Instagram, where she posted a photo showing her with her husband. She recently touted the family furniture business. That’s the location where Claude’s body was found by one of his sons. Claude died of suicide, according to TMZ. He was married twice and also had two kids with his ex-wife, People reported. The kids have now started posting tributes on their Instagram pages, although Deborah has not yet broken her silence.

Deborah has been active on Instagram in recent years. “No putter needed! Third hole in one. Just trying to beat my husband in his Stanley cup collection…..” she wrote in 2019, with a photo showing her on a golf course.

 

 

In 2015, she shared a photo showing her with her husband and wrote, “Serenity in 2015.” A fan responded in the comment thread after his death, “RIP champ.” She hasn’t posted since 2025, though, and her recent posts showed her with her sons. That year, she wrote, “Our beautiful new showroom is now open. If you’re in the Palm Beach Area, come see our selection of unique, luxury furniture.”

According to The New York Times, the couple married in the 1990s in the Bahamas. “He’s a big old bear,” Deborah told the New York Times then. “People think he’s so tough. But he’s so easygoing.”

Claude Lemieux Owned a Furniture Showroom in Lake Park, Florida, With His Wife Deborah Lemieux

According to The Athletic, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office told The Athletic that deputies “responded early Thursday morning to a suicide attempt at a furniture showroom.”

The news outlet reported that the showroom is located in Lake Park, FL, “and is owned by Lemieux and his wife, Deborah. The Sheriff’s Office secured the business for investigation.”

The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Lemieux had died but would not release records to The Athletic due to laws governing deaths by suicide.

Claude is also survived by kids Brendan, Christopher, Michael and Claudia. “Our loves,” Deborah wrote on several photos showing the kids on her Instagram page.

According to TMZ, one of the Stanley Cup champ’s sons found him at the warehouse around 3 a.m. when he didn’t return home. The story doesn’t say which son found Lemieux deceased, however. One of his sons, Brendan, is also a professional hockey player who has most recently competed for a team in Switzerland.
