Meghan Markle signalled her return to California on Sunday evening by posting a social media photograph of herself browsing a garden centre.
Palm trees visible in the background and bright sunshine confirmed the Montecito setting.
Meghan Markle, 44, appeared to be loading potted plants into a trolley, captioning the image with a potted plant emoji and a spade.
She wore her hair pulled back in a ponytail with a DÔEN headband, pairing a J.Crew jumper with Anine Bing jeans and Veronica Beard loafers.

The relaxed outing follows what has been a particularly eventful summer for the Sussexes.
Earlier this month, Meghan, Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, travelled to the United Kingdom.
The family were pictured bringing flowers to the grave of Princess Diana during the trip.
Prince Harry’s maternal uncle, Earl Charles Spencer, hosted the Sussexes at the Althorp Estate alongside his fourth wife, Countess Cat Spencer.

The visit also included a private audience with the King and Queen at Highgrove House, marking a notable moment for the family amid their time in Britain.
Beyond their UK visit, the couple also took Archie and Lilibet on a summer break in Portugal, which Meghan confirmed on social media.
Among the images she shared, one featured a menu from O Melidense, a coastal restaurant in an area often dubbed the “Hamptons of Portugal.”

In 2024, People reported that the Sussexes had bought a holiday property in the country, with the Mail subsequently claiming the home was undergoing interior refurbishment.
The couple have neither confirmed nor denied either report.
Prince Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank own a home at the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club in nearby Comporta, a connection that has long fuelled speculation about the Sussexes’ ties to the area.
