The coupled up pair keep calling Sam Workman ‘their son’ and when he talks to girls they say things like ‘our son is growing up’.
When Sam pulled Victoria for a chat, detective Lola Deal and teacher Sean “Fitzy” Fitzgerald cheered and whooped.
“Get in,” Fitzy said.
Lola then added: “Our son is f**king growing.”

Fans spotted this and rushed to X to share their thoughts, with many deeming the sly comments “patronising”.
“Sean and lola so proud for their child sam,” said one person.
“I get everyone loves Sam and wants to support him but they are treating him like a child,” added another.
“I’m sure they don’t mean to but they kind of patronise Sam,” wrote a third.
“The way everyone treats and talks about Sam like he’s a charity case is so patronising. It would actually make me feel worse if I was him,” penned a fourth.
While a fifth said: “It’s a bit condescending that everyone keeps awing Sam like he’s a little child.”
And a seventh said: “The infantilisation of Sam is depressing.”
Just days ago, fans speculated that Sam was being sidelined because of his disability.
Sam is Love Island’s second-ever deaf contestant, following in the footsteps of series eight star Tasha Ghouri, and wears two hearing aids.
“I’ve worn them since I was four years old. So they are really a big part of who I am,” he said in a recent interview. “I would say that it’s helped me with my confidence.”
But over the weekend, one fan took to Reddit to share their fears Sam is being “sidelined”.
“I feel he’s being sidelined because of his disability, and it looks quite sad how he seems to be excluded a lot from the group,” they penned.
“He seems such a sweet boy as well, it’s painful to see someone struggle due to something they can’t control. I wish the boys did more to include him- I don’t feel they do enough.”
