nd just like that, the debut season of one of Yellowstone‘s first spin-offs has come to an end.

Marshals, starring Luke Grimes, officially capped off its first season this weekend, finally revealing who was behind the attacks on Rainwater, and Kayce’s plans for East Ranch.

It’ll be a while before we get to see how the aftermath unfolds, but fret not, it’s in the works already. Here’s what we know.

Will Marshals have a second season?

Yes, Marshals has already been renewed for a second season, in fact, CBS renewed the series only 12 days after its March 2026 premiere, which drew a whopping 9.52 million viewers, per Nielsen numbers.

The show swiftly became the most-watched new scripted series premiere without a football lead-in since 2018, when FBI premiered in September of that year, and it became the most watched new series premiere of the 2025-26 broadcast season, exhibiting an impressive 99% retention from the first half-hour to the second.

“MARSHALS delivered a breakout performance, capturing a massive audience across platforms and quickly establishing itself as one of TV’s most powerful new series,” said Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment in a press release confirming the series’ renewal.

Who is returning… and possibly leaving

Luke, of course, is coming back, but the end of the first season did leave the fate of several of his co-stars up in the air.

Arielle Kebbell and Logan Marshall-Green’s characters were both part of a raid that teased a shooting, leaving their lives uncertain. Plus, Ash Santos‘ character Andrea was considering a move out of Montana, leaving her return for season two uncertain as well.

Tatanka Means, Brecken Merill, Mo Brings Plenty, and Gil Birmingham are all expected to return.

When will Marshals season two premiere

There is still no confirmed release date for the sophomore season of the spin-off; the first season premiered on March 1, and concluded on May 24th, so a second season would likely follow a similar schedule.
