Inside Love Island’s Strictest Rule Yet: Contestants Forbidden From Watching England’s World Cup Match or Knowing the Result
THE Love Islanders will not watch the upcoming England Vs Norway World cup match – and they are banned from knowing the score.
England beat Mexico 3-2 at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, meaning that The Three Lions have secured a place in the quarter-finals of the football competition.

Their next match will be against Norway in Miami at The Miami Stadium on Saturday (8 July 2026).
And the game will start at 10pm in the UK.
But when asked if the Islanders would be shown the England match on Saturday night, a spokesperson confirmed there are currently no plans to do so.
However back in 2021, the Islanders were allowed to watch the Euro final, which saw England take on Italy at Wembley Stadium.

So the likes of Millie Court, Liam Reardon and Hugo Hammond were left devastated when England lost.
As fans know, Islanders are banned from knowing anything about the outside world – which includes any match results.
And this means that bombshells are not allowed to share anything with them when they arrive.
However, in previous years, the newbies have broken that rule.
Adam Collard – who took part in the show back in 2018 – confessed that they managed to get some information out of one of them.
He previously told Heart FM: “Nobody is aware of anything.
“The only information you get is when there is a new bombshell or a new islander coming into the house and then you start quizzing them.
“We’re not supposed to ask, but when Sam Bird came into the house we pestered the life out of him and then he told us the England score for the first game, and then the girls in Casa Amor told us the second score.
“But the producers really don’t tell us anything.”
At the time, The Sun exclusively revealed that the Islanders banned from watching the England World Cup games – and wouldn’t find out the results.
An insider close to the show told The Sun Online: “It might be the most exciting sporting event of the year but rules are rules.
“Some of the Islanders will no doubt be fuming to miss the matches but that’s the price they have to go to pay to find love.”
They added: “They won’t even get told the scores off camera, so will have to wait until they leave to see how England get on.”
Despite Love Island UK’s plans to not show the game this year, the USA version of the dating programme have been referencing the World Cup.
Sports journalist Frederik Oldenburg entered the villa last month to host a football themed game.
