‘HELL ON WHEELS’ BEHIND BARS: Mackenzie Shirilla’s X-RATED prison behavior REVEALED – from flashing breasts during video visits to sex toys on camera and ‘disgusting’ sexual harassment of guards
HIGHLIGHTS:
Mackenzie Shirilla, 21, who was convicted of murdering her boyfriend Dominic Russo, 20, and his friend Davion Flanagan, 19, by driving 100 mph into a brick wall, has racked up DOZENS of disciplinary violations behind bars – including exposing her breasts on video visits
Prison records obtained by 3News show Shirilla has been found guilty of 32 conduct reports out of 36 filed – ranging from contraband possession and altered clothing to ‘consensual sexual conduct’ with another inmate and inappropriate video visits featuring sex toys
In one shocking September 2025 incident, a conduct report alleges Shirilla showed her breast to a visitor during a video call – and the visitor responded by exposing her breast and displaying a sex toy on camera
The ‘Hell on Wheels’ killer has also been accused of making a sexually inappropriate comment to a female corrections officer, saying if he ‘got an erection’ from how she was dressed, ‘that’s his fault’ – using an explicit term for the male anatomy
MARYSVILLE, Ohio – The judge who sent her to prison called her ‘literal hell on wheels.’
Now, newly obtained prison records reveal that Mackenzie Shirilla has been raising hell behind bars, too.
The 21-year-old convicted killer – who was found guilty of murdering her boyfriend Dominic Russo, 20, and his friend Davion Flanagan, 19, by intentionally driving her car into a brick wall at nearly 100 mph – has amassed a staggering disciplinary record during her time at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville .
And the details are as shocking as they are sordid.
From flashing her breasts during video visits to sexually charged comments directed at corrections officers, Shirilla appears to have little interest in rehabilitation.
Instead, she seems determined to cement her reputation as one of the most notorious inmates in the facility.
‘I DIDN’T REALISE IT WAS ILLEGAL TO HAVE A HUGE ASS’
36 CONDUCT REPORTS. 32 GUILTY FINDINGS.
According to records obtained by 3News and reviewed by DailyMail.com, Shirilla has been cited for disciplinary violations on dozens of occasions since entering prison in August 2023 .
She has been found guilty in 32 of 36 cases .
The infractions span nearly every category of prison misconduct.
Seven counts of being ‘out of place’ – not where she’s supposed to be.
Six counts involving contraband – including altered clothing, homemade jewellery, paint supplies, and even medication prescribed to another inmate .

Four counts of disobeying a direct order.
Four counts of violating institutional rules and procedures .
But the most disturbing allegations involve Shirilla’s conduct during video visits – and her behaviour toward prison staff.

‘SHE FLASHED HER BREASTS ON CAMERA’
In what may be the most graphic set of allegations, prison records claim Shirilla engaged in explicit sexual conduct during video calls with visitors.
According to conduct reports, during one September 2025 video visit, Shirilla allegedly exposed her breast to the person on the other end of the call .
But she wasn’t the only one.
The visitor – who was not an approved participant – then allegedly exposed her own breast and displayed a sex toy on camera .
Prison staff monitoring the call documented every detail.
Shirilla reportedly could not deny the incident. The evidence was captured on the prison’s video system .
She was found guilty of violating video visitation rules – and lost access to electronics for 30 days .

‘THAT’S HIS FAULT’ – THE SEXUAL HARASSMENT CLAIM
Shirilla’s alleged misconduct extends beyond video calls and into face-to-face interactions with corrections officers.
In one April 2025 incident, prison staff accused her of sexual harassment .
The confrontation began when a corrections officer approached Shirilla to check if she was dressed properly. She had been wearing an altered hoodie that was considered contraband.
When the officer told Shirilla she needed to go to the restroom to verify she was dressed appropriately underneath her hoodie, Shirilla allegedly responded with a sexually charged comment.
‘If he got an erection from the way I’m dressed, that’s his fault,’ Shirilla reportedly said – using an explicit four-letter word for the male anatomy .
The officer documented the remark in a conduct report, noting that Shirilla was ‘very disrespectful’ and spoke with a ‘loud tone’ throughout the encounter .
When she finally unzipped her hoodie in the restroom, officers discovered her state-issued shirt was ‘completely unbuttoned with just a sports bra on’ .
She was instructed to button her shirt and surrender her altered hoodie.

Shirilla reportedly denied making the inappropriate remark, claiming: ‘I went to the bathroom with her. I never said that. I did what they told me. I was not being disrespectful’ .
Nevertheless, she pleaded guilty to the charges and was punished.
CONTRABAND, ALTERED CLOTHES AND A PRISON ‘STASH’
Beyond the sexually charged infractions, Shirilla has accumulated a lengthy record of more mundane – but equally prohibited – possessions.
During a random cell search in October 2024, officers reportedly found:
Two pairs of altered state pants
A fan marked with another inmate’s name (crossed out, with ‘Shirilla’ written on the other side)
Four nude magazine pictures
Shirilla reportedly told staff: ‘I did have the fan and pants. Was turned into quarter master and I was charged’ .
She was found guilty and lost commissary privileges for 30 days. The contraband fan was destroyed .
But that was just the beginning.
In November 2024, Shirilla was stopped for a random search and voluntarily handed over a block of cheese and a package of noodles from her hoodie – both considered contraband when taken from the chow hall .
She was also found to be out of dress code – not wearing a state-issued shirt underneath her hoodie.
The officer noted that Shirilla ‘deliberately had her collar tucked in and shirt to make it appear she did not have a state shirt on’ .
She lost access to packages for 30 days.
Two days later, she was written up again – this time for wearing an altered blue sweatshirt made into a hoodie .
Her defence? She admitted to having the sweatshirt, but claimed she ‘didn’t alter it herself.’
She lost commissary privileges for another 30 days.

‘I DIDN’T STEAL ANYTHING’ – THE PRISON CRAFT ROOM HAUL
Perhaps the most extensive contraband discovery came during another search, when officers reportedly found Shirilla in possession of a shocking array of prohibited items .
The list included:
Dangle earrings with charms stolen from the ‘kind wear’ room
Bottles of paint – multiple
A bottle of wax
11 paint tubes
A plastic bin
More than 20 rocks
Homemade pillows
Altered painted van shoes
A pillow with no receipt
Two green t-shirts
Fake eyelashes
One neck scarf
Two long sleeve t-shirts
Pompom earrings made from items stolen from the ‘kind wear’ room
Bags of beads
When confronted, Shirilla reportedly claimed: ‘I didn’t steal anything. I got it from so-and-so. I like to paint cups. She gave me the stuff’ .
She pleaded guilty to the charges anyway.
‘CONSENSUAL SEXUAL CONDUCT’ WITH ANOTHER INMATE
In addition to her video visit violations, prison records also allege that Shirilla engaged in consensual sexual conduct with another incarcerated person .
In one August 2025 incident, a conduct report stated that a fellow inmate ‘had her hands in IP [incarcerated person] Shirilla’s pants in her buttocks region’ .
Shirilla denied the allegation, stating: ‘I did not allow her to touch me and I have never had a sex ticket and this is not me. I don’t do that kind of stuff’ .
The outcome of that specific charge was not immediately clear from available records.
However, the pattern of behaviour has raised serious questions about Shirilla’s prospects for parole.
Justin Paperny, a prison consultant who advises inmates on navigating the correctional system, told the Law & Crime Network that Shirilla’s conduct is ‘a total case study of what not to do’ .
‘She’s putting herself in a position where she’s eventually going to go in front of a parole board and she’s going to say, “I’m sorry. I’ve changed. I won’t do it again. I’ve learned my lessons,”‘ Paperny said.
‘And a very cynical parole board’s going to say, “Cool. Where is the record? What have you done to demonstrate why you should be released?”‘
‘SHE DOESN’T THINK THE RULES APPLY TO HER’
Paperny, who himself served 18 months in federal prison, offered a blunt assessment of Shirilla’s mindset.
‘She doesn’t believe she’s guilty,’ he told host Angenette Levy .
‘She describes herself as being in with crazy people. She does not identify with them. She is not one of them. She is innocent. So this injustice is coming her way. Therefore, why should she be held accountable to rules that shouldn’t apply to her because she did anything wrong?’
Paperny suggested Shirilla continues to maintain hope that her conviction will be overturned on appeal.
‘I assure you, she lays on her rack the long day behind her expecting at some point to get a phone call from her lawyer that says, “You prevailed on appeal. You’re coming home tomorrow,”‘ he said .
But with each new conduct report, that possibility grows more remote.
‘She’s setting herself up on a path to be there for the rest of her life,’ Paperny warned .
FAMILY RESPONSE AND FALLOUT FROM NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY
Shirilla’s prison conduct has come to light just weeks after the release of Netflix’s documentary ‘The Crash,’ which featured Shirilla’s first on-camera interview from prison .
In the documentary, Shirilla maintained her innocence, telling viewers: ‘I’m not saying I’m innocent. I was the driver of a tragedy. But I’m not a murderer’ .
But the documentary has done little to sway public opinion.
Online reviews have been scathing. One IMDb user wrote: ‘She disgusts me the entire time. The way she only cares to pose in front of the camera and nothing else in the world… All this narcissistic B cares is looks and brands and nothing with intrinsic values’ .
Another added: ‘She rolled her eyes as the attorney was explaining the evidence and she only cried when she realized she was going to jail’ .
The documentary also reportedly led to professional consequences for Shirilla’s father, Steve Shirilla, who was placed on administrative leave from his teaching position at Mary Queen of Peace School in Ohio .
The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland confirmed that school administrators were investigating allegations of ‘poor judgment’ involving the teacher .
VICTIM’S SISTER FIGHTS BACK
Christine Russo, whose brother Dominic was killed in the 2022 crash, has been vocal about her frustration with the documentary – and with Shirilla’s ongoing behaviour.
‘It’s bittersweet because the entire world knows about who my brother is. Like billions of people know. And I think he deserves nothing less. Same thing with Davion,’ Russo told NewsNation .
But she also expressed concern that the documentary may have given Shirilla a platform to portray herself as a victim.
‘It’s not that I want to talk badly about the Shirillas. And it’s not that I want to hate anybody or anything like that, but I’m going to defend my brother,’ she said .
‘And if they keep putting out misinformation, I’m going to shut it down. That’s what it’s all about.’
Russo has since launched a podcast focused on advocacy and preserving the memories of her brother and Davion Flanagan .
WHAT COMES NEXT FOR ‘HELL ON WHEELS’?
Shirilla is serving two concurrent sentences of 15 years to life for the murders of Dominic Russo and Davion Flanagan .
Her first parole hearing is scheduled for September 2037 – more than a decade away.
But with each new conduct report, the likelihood of parole diminishes.
Paperny offered a final, sobering assessment.
‘She can turn it around,’ he said. ‘We can all become better than decisions of our past. But it’s time she begins to make better decisions.’
‘She just doesn’t think she’s guilty.’
For now, the woman a judge called ‘literal hell on wheels’ remains exactly where that judge put her.
Behind bars.
And by all accounts, making a mess of it.
