‘Masterpiece’ Western drama branded ‘best TV show of 2026’

A man claims to have stumbled across a ‘masterpiece’ new Western drama show, which he’s praised as ‘the best show of the year’ so far.

It can be difficult to find a new show that really captures your attention and keeps you hooked. While streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime are convenient and always rolling out new programmes and movies, it’s sometimes nice to branch out.

With that being said, a brand new Western drama show just landed on Paramount Plus,and it could be worth your attention. That’s because viewers are already claiming it’s one of the best shows of the year.

TV reviewer Luke Ecclestone – also known as Eccy – drew his followers’ attention to the show, which only landed on the streaming platform a few weeks ago.

In an informational TikTok video, he explained it’s bound to be a hit with people who enjoyed Yellowstone – which came to an end in 2024.

Eccy said: “You don’t want to miss this show because it is the best show of the year. And two of the greatest characters on television are finally back.”

The programme in question is Dutton Ranch, which has just premiered on Paramount Plus and is already being hyped.

It is a spin-off and sequel to Yellowstone, and follows the characters Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), who decide to gamble everything on a new life in South Texas.

They are chasing the dream of building a future far from Yellowstone. However, they quickly collide with the brutal new realities and a rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire.

Some fans have claimed it’s ‘like Yellowstone season six’, as the new series picks up where the series finale ended.

Eccy added: “This show wastes absolutely no time getting straight into it with this new rival ranch called the Ten Petal Ranch. And some of these characters in this series you don’t want to mess with.”

After three episodes dropped on Paramount Plus, the show earned an impressive 88% on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.5/10 on IMDb.

Eccy went on to say: “I am absolutely in love with it and I can’t wait to see where this goes. And I just can’t wait to see where Beth and Rip go.

“I can’t wait to see him fighting for what is theirs, fighting for the ranch. And trust me, this is a show everyone needs to go and see.”

Well, that’s certainly convinced us to give it a watch!
