IT most definitely was not a throuple, but David Haye called into Sun HQ yesterday to give us his explosive take on I’m A Celeb – and the world in general.
After fans accused him of sexism and bullying on the show, however, we had to wonder what the former heavyweight boxing champ would be like in person.

The 45-year-old arrives wearing all black, in a leather motorcycle jacket, wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses, which remain on at all times.
But he is warm, friendly and polite, asking only for a coffee, then a Red Bull, before our interview.
He greets our talkSPORT colleagues with hugs in the green room before his girlfriend Sian Osborne straightens his collar ahead of our photo together.
But the mischief is still there and, as we pose as a trio, he jokes we are a “throuple” — a reference to his much-publicised time dating both model Sian and singer Una Healy.
And he is not ready to apologise for any of his behaviour on I’m A Celeb, which reaches its live final on Friday.
In fact, he doubles down on branding campmate Adam Thomas a sick note, as well as on his “ugly bird” theory about girlfriend Sian.
Former Emmerdale actor Adam has autoimmune condition psoriatic arthritis and struggled with fatigue and dehydration in the Kruger National Park, where the series was shot.
But David insists: “I didn’t know about it, but I couldn’t care less.
“Everyone’s got something.
“If you go to the doctor and say, I don’t feel well because of this, that, the other, they’ll prescribe you something, give you some pills, and now you’ve got this thing to hold on to.

“So any situation that might be uncomfortable, you go, ‘Look, I’ve got this doctor’s note’ and they’ll all feel sorry for me.
“Adam was jumping around, dancing.
“I think whatever the trial was, he didn’t like the sound of it, so he’s lying in bed, so I gave him some s*** about that.
“I don’t think it’s bullying.
“It was just banter to another guy who was nearly 40 years old.
“Do I care about people that don’t like me saying what I really think?
“No, I couldn’t give a s***.
“If a few comments breaks him, how soft is he?
“How weak, how brittle-spirited is he?
“I’ve grown up in gyms where we fight each other.
“If someone comes into the gym and you do some sparring, you punch him in the stomach and he goes down, oh, my stomach’s hurting, if that’s what breaks him, obviously it means he comes from a very soft, padded lifestyle.
“Life gets way tougher than that, honestly.
“It’s probably £20,000-£25,000 per day for being in that jungle.
“So to get up and do some trial or doing whatever, how is that hard?
“It’s not hard.
“I’ve had really hard fights for no money whatsoever.
“Adam comes from a different world.
“Someone sent me a video of him doing some TikTok dance with his brothers and that — it was kind of the feminine thing.
“I’ve got a really cute little chihuahua, so beautiful.
“And she’s not a guard dog, she doesn’t do anything other than just comfort you.
“Adam’s like a kind of chihuahua.
“I’m more of a doberman or a boxer or a pit bull or something.
“He’s the chihuahua.”
“He doesn’t need therapy.
“He needs to do some push-ups, he needs to get out there and get in amongst other males who are powerful, who do stuff and don’t sit there talking all the goddamned time about how hard life is.”

The scathing takedown comes as a poll of 16 to 29-year-olds found that 50 per cent would not fight for Britain if we were at war.
David continues: “If there was a war going on you’re going to stick me in the front line with a bayonet and I’m running over the hill wielding my axe.
“You’ve got to go out and fight.
“You can either hide under the bed and hope they don’t get you or you can get out there and support your family.
“That’s all you need to know about these little weak-ass dudes.”
David also sparked a sexism row on the ITV show when he said his girlfriend Sian had “the personality of a proper ugly bird”.
Holding firm, he tells us: “If you’ve got ten supermodels who’ve been stunning since they were little, everyone’s like, ‘Whatever you want, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes’.
“Then you get ten busted-up, ugly chicks and they’ve had to work for everything, they’ve got to get the s**t jobs, they’ve got to work their way up, they’ve got to do all the crap that the pretty girls don’t have to do.
“Now put them all in the dark and have a conversation.
“The personalities of the ugly ten will be, on average, in my opinion, significantly better.
“I’m saying my girlfriend has a personality of an ugly bird, which sounds harsh when you say it, but it’s just how it is, it’s the truth and people don’t like the truth.”
It is hard to resist asking David where we, two average 40-somethings, rate on David’s scale.
“You’ve got the personalities of an ugly bird,” he assures us.
“You’ve got a job based on your personalities, based on engaging conversations back and forth and you’re both stunning as well, so you’ve got the full package.”
Ummm, thank you?

It begs the question.
Is David Haye a feminist?
“It depends what your version of feminism is,” he replies.
“If we’re drafted to go to war, women won’t be drafted in the UK, right?
“So, no, we’re not equal.”
It is easy to see how the campmates got worked up at David’s views, but he insists part of their reaction was just for show.
He says: “Everybody edits themselves fully and completely.
“They will have an opinion on something, and because the cameras are rolling and they might have a job with a big television network, they can’t say anything that might be deemed in any way offensive to anyone ever.”
He also claims there is a lot of editing at play.
So did he really eye-roll when campmate Gemma Collins was discussing her “thin” hair — a move fans likened to fat-shaming.
He simply says: “Remember, they can edit it however they want.
“Maybe that eye-roll was from a different thing — it’s a TV show.”
But David insists Tuesday night’s row between Jimmy Bullard and Adam was edited.
He explains: “You didn’t see what really happened.
“They edited that right down.
“It was a lot more intense.
“There was the C-bomb.
“There wasn’t fisticuffs but I can guarantee you Adam was absolutely gutted that he broke character and went out there and yapped.”
Having now seen the ferocious reaction to his behaviour on screen, is David prepared to admit he pushed it too far?
He replies: “That’s what makes good TV.
“That’s why people go to watch horror movies because it makes them feel uncomfortable.
“They want to see real human interactions and that’s real human interaction.
“People are so soft nowadays so I’m not surprised at all.
“People watch TV in the hope someone says something that offends them so they can then vent.
“I actually got on with Adam.
“I actually like Adam.
“I think he’s actually going to win the show.”
David also claims he asked ITV to switch his seat on the flight home so he could sit with Adam — after saying the actor snubbed him.
David adds: “He walks by and I was like, ‘Hey, what’s going on?’. He says, ‘Hey, I’ll be back in a minute’.

“About an hour and a half later he comes back round when it’s time to go to the plane, so I thought, OK, what I’ll do, I’ll make sure I sit next to him on this ten-hour flight.
“So I then wound him up for a little while, gave him some more banter on the plane.
“But, we actually talked and I explained to him this is just who I am and where I’ve been.
“I did apologise.
“But we had a laugh, we had a laugh at the end of it.
“I think at the end of the flight he was like, ‘OK, I’m glad’.”
Now the whole cast will reunite at the live final on Friday — which Jimmy has confirmed he will attend after initially refusing to do so.
Tonight’s episode will see four of the final five remaining celebrities — Adam, Harry Redknapp, Sir Mo Farah, Craig Charles and Scarlett Moffatt — make it through to the final.
And, against all odds, David’s looking forward to it.
He says: “This has been the real David.
“Whether you think I’m the sexist or a bully, that’s your opinion, from a TV show that’s been edited.
“If they think that, then good luck to them, I don’t really care.
“I thought it was great, I’d do it again, it’s good fun, I enjoyed it.
“I genuinely had some amazing connections with everybody and I enjoyed their company, all of them.
“Even Adam, it might seem like we are arch enemies, but I’ve got no beef with him whatsoever and I don’t think he’s got any beef with me.”
But then David has a moment of clarity.
And he says: “He might do after he reads this.
“But hopefully he’s not as sensitive now.
“It’ll be great.
“It’ll be good to see him on Friday.
“I’m going to send a message to him now and say I’ve done a great interview and he’ll love it.”
