A third teenager has been charged with murder after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death in the car park of a Melbourne hospital.

Darweish Mohamed was discovered with stab wounds by a staff member outside Craigieburn Community Hospital about 7.50pm on Wednesday.

The hospital employee tried to revive the Mount Ridley College student, but he succumbed to his injuries.

A 16-year-old boy and a young man were arrested about nine hours later in Pascoe Vale, about 20 km from the hospital where Darweish was left to die. The teenager was charged with murder overnight.

A second boy, aged 15, was charged with murder on Friday moening.

Both teenagers are expected to appear before a children’s court.

A 14-year-old boy from the Hume area was arrested on Friday night and has also been charged with murder.

He will appear before a children’s court.

Detectives returned to the scene on Thursday morning, scouring a nearby reserve for clues while just 20 minutes away forensics examined a burnt-out car believed to be linked to the boy’s death.

A 20-year-old Beveridge man arrested alongside the teen in Pascoe Vale was charged with criminal damage by fire and bailed to appear in court later.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested overnight and has been charged with affray and stealing a motor vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.

She was bailed to appear in children’s court at a later date.

Friends took to social media to pay tribute, while a makeshift memorial grew at the scene.

“A mum has woken up this morning to the worst possible news of her life,” Opposition Leader Jess Wilson said.
