We’ll Carry Your Memory Forever: A Brother’s Heartbreaking Farewell to Brooke Timmins Leaves the Community in Tears
A fundraiser for the family of a mother who was allegedly murdered by her partner in Melbourne’s south-east has raised almost $40,000.
Brooke Timmins, 29, died after her partner Jorden Turney, 32, allegedly attacked her inside their Clyde North home on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to the house on Generation Drive about 6:30pm, where they found Ms Timmins with critical injuries.
She was rushed to The Alfred hospital but she died a short time later.

In a tribute to his sister, Lachie Timmins called for more to be done to stop domestic violence.
“We need better awareness, better support, and real action so that no other family has to endure this unbearable pain,”
he said.
“No child should ever have to say goodbye to their mother because of domestic violence.
“No family should have to experience this kind of heartbreak. No woman should have to live in fear.”

Mr Timmins remembered his sister as a mother who was “loved beyond words”.
“My sister was loved, she mattered, and she should still be here watching her boys grow up,” he said
“My beautiful sister’s life was taken far too soon, and now her two precious little boys have to grow up without their mum.
“We will carry her memory with us forever, and we will keep fighting for a future where no more women lose their lives to violence.”

Mr Turney appeared briefly at the Melbourne Magistrates court yesterday, where the court heard he had been diagnosed with a psychiatric illness and was at risk of self-harm in custody.
He did not apply for bail and was remanded to court for a committal hearing in November.
