A man charged with the murder of his de facto partner of seven years was allegedly found “standing over the deceased” when paramedics and police were called to a Melbourne home, police allege in court documents.
Jorden Turney, 32, appeared at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday afternoon a day after he allegedly murdered his 29-year-old de facto partner of seven years at a Clyde North home on Sunday night.
Emergency services found Brooke Timmins had suffered critical injuries when they arrived at the property at 6.30pm on Sunday night.
She was taken to hospital and died the following day.
In a remand summary released by the court on Tuesday, police allege Mr Turney called triple-0 at 6.37pm requesting an ambulance as his partner was unconscious and bleeding.
“Ambulance Victoria and police attended and found the accused inside the residence standing over the deceased,” the summary alleged.
It’s alleged Mr Turney was arrested at the scene and later “made admissions to assaulting” Ms Timmins.

Mr Turney appeared visually emotional in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon as a charge of murder was formally laid with the court.
Wearing a blue T-shirt and flanked by two custody officials, Mr Turney appeared red-faced and sobbing, dabbing his eyes with a tissue.
He also took deep exhales while nodding along to the proceedings.
The court was told police were seeking a longer than usual period to prepare their case, pointing to phone analytics and forensic investigations that were expected to lead to delays.

He was remanded into custody by magistrate Vincenzo Caltabiano to return to court on November 30.
Before he left, Mr Turney thanked the magistrate and said; “Make sure you bring this case to justice”.
