Latest Updates on the Mental Competency Evaluations of the Four Adults Charged in the Ohio “House of Horr0.rs” Case Involving 16 Children
VINTON COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – A judge granted competency evaluations for two of the four adults charged with child endangerment after 16 children were rescued from an Ohio home.
Gary Siders Jr. and Christina Siders are two of the four family members arrested in the child abuse case, and Judge Laina Fetherolf Rogers approved the requests Wednesday for the two to sit for competency evaluations.

According to court records, the evaluations will determine if Gary Jr. and Christina Siders are mentally fit to sit for a trial and if they understand the extent of their charges.
Court filings show that Christina Siders’ attorney has reason to believe that her client may not fully understand the charges and unable to assist the council in the preparation and defense of the case.
Gary Siders Jr.’s attorney also said that Gary Jr.’s mental state may not be fit for trial.
The other two adults, Elizabeth Siders and Gary Siders Sr., are still facing charges in the case, each facing 16 counts of endangering children for each child rescued from the home.

A judge previously approved a competency hearing for Gary Siders Sr., who was released from jail for “severe” health conditions.
According to court records, Siders Jr.’s attorney Lee Roberts also submitted a motion for a gag order earlier this month.
Fetherolf Rogers’ rulings give the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail 30 days to have a psychiatrist evaluate both Gary Jr. and Christina Siders.
