Hunted by Police, the Woman Suddenly Drove Straight Toward the Officers — Triggering a Shocking Crash That Threw an Entire Neighborhood Into Chaos

A woman wanted on multiple warrants allegedly used her car as a weapon and drove at police officers in Sydney’s east overnight.

Residents were rattled by a massive bang just before 10pm on Saturday with the smash caught on security cameras.

Witnesses say they saw a woman running from the scene.

Ruby Hughes said: “I heard the loudest crash I’ve ever heard in my life and then immediately after, five sirens came.”

Prior to the smash, police went looking for Murphy at the Randwick unit she was staying in, but they couldn’t find her.

Instead, police say she was sitting in her Holden SUV and allegedly drove at responding officers as she made her getaway.

Inspector Chris Louis said the woman was in a car in the car park and “drove at the police officers who were setting up the perimeter”. Driver tries to flee from police in beachside  suburb of Sydney

“They had to take evasive action as she sped off,” he added.

“We deem that very serious.”

Her dash from the law along Clovelly Road sparked a massive manhunt, including officers from the dog squad going door-to-door in search of her.

Burhan Mohamed’s worker at Randwick Petroleum came face to face with her as she ran through the servo.

“Soon after police came, chasing that lady,” he said.

Murphy was arrested this afternoon in nearby Matraville.

She’s wanted on multiple warrants for alleged break-and-enters and stealing offences.
