Brazen Att@ck: Two Men Knocked a 17-Year-Old Boy Off His Electric Bike and Slashed His Shoulder with a Machete

Police have launched a public appeal after a Melbourne teenager was attacked with a machete and robbed of his $10,000 e-bike.
It’s alleged the then-17-year-old was approached by two men at JW Manson Reserve on Selkirk Avenue in Wantirna about 6.15pm on June 20.

The pair allegedly knocked the teen off his e-bike and slashed his shoulder with a machete as he attempted to run away.
He managed to reach nearby Selkirk Avenue, where a passerby called Triple Zero.
Police said the teen suffered at least three wounds in the attack, needed surgery and spent four days recovering in hospital.
The offenders allegedly stole his Surron Ultra Bee HP e-bike, valued at about $10,000, along with his phone before fleeing.
Detectives are still investigating the attack and have released CCTV and images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Detective Acting Inspector Troy Andrews described the alleged attack as “extremely concerning”.
“This unprovoked and senseless attack on the victim is extremely concerning and completely unacceptable.
“Investigators have been working tirelessly in relation to finding those involved and to hold them to account for their actions.”
He said police would continue patrolling the Knox area.
