“I just heard a fairly prominent acceleration, followed by an enormous bang,” Nick Smith said.
The vehicle – a Ferrari SF90 Spider valued between $1 million and $1.5 million – allegedly left a nearby roundabout and mounted the curb before smashing into a tree.
Witness Mitch O’Leary described the aftermath as “confronting”, saying that seeing the wrecked luxury vehicle was like watching “a house on wheels” destroyed.

Gold Coast property influencer Sam Gordon was behind the wheel and managed to step out of the wreckage unscathed.
Witnesses reported seeing him calmly picking up debris from the street shortly after the impact.
“The driver was speaking to a tow truck driver, amazingly very composed,” Smith said.
“He didn’t appear to be injured at all, but the carnage was incredible.”
Gordon, who regularly posted videos of his dream car to his social media followers, took to Instagram following the crash. 9News
The crash occurred in a 60km/h zone along a stretch of road where council had recently implemented safety measures.
“We’ve got a traffic island just near the roundabout there, which is designed to reduce speed,” Gold Coast Councillor Nick Marshall said.
Gordon, who regularly posted videos of his dream car to his 26,000 social media followers since buying it last year, took to Instagram following the crash.
“Just wanted to let everyone know I’m all good, I’m all sweet,” Gordon said.
“Massive shoutout to Ferrari for building a crazy car that protects the driver first in an accident.”
