Two people have been killed and several more injured in a shooting at a food festival in Seattle, on the US west coast.
The shooting happened a block from the city’s iconic Space Needle, fire officials said, on Sunday night local time (Monday AEST).

The Seattle Fire Department said it responded to reports of a shooting at the Seattle Centre just after 6pm.
Two people were declared dead at the scene and four others, including a two-year-old child, were rushed to hospital, the department said in a statement.
“Please avoid the area,” local police said in a post on X.
Harborview Medical Centre, one of Seattle’s major hospitals, told CNN it was set to be receiving people injured from the event.
The shooting occurred at the annual Bite of Seattle festival, which featured hundreds of local vendors and live music performances.
Witnesses reported hearing “seven to eight shots” inside the venue, adding people were running “everywhere”.
