Filming is underway in Gozo and Malta
The series, which is created by and stars Sally Lindsay as France-based sleuth Jean White, has amassed a legion of loyal fans since it first premiered in 2021 thanks to its engaging storylines, charming leading star and stunning scenery.
This cosy crime gem often draws comparisons to Agatha Christie stories thanks to its classic whodunnit style and light-hearted tone, which is similar to Miss Marple. Fans of the genre will not be disappointed by this TV treat.
With filming underway in Gozo and Malta, find out all we know about season five below.

The Madame Blanc Mysteries returns to 5 later this year
Meanwhile, Alex Gaumond reprises his role as Chief of Police André Caron, alongside Tony Robinson as Dom’s Uncle Patrick, Paul Chuckle (Elliott) as Gloria’s dad Trevor and Stephen Bailey as gangster John Marsden.
What has Sally Lindsay said about Jean and Dom’s romance?
Viewers have loved watching Jean and Dom’s “will-they-won’t-they” romance blossom over the past few series.
While the couple initially decided to keep their relationship under wraps, Dom got down on one knee at the end of season four.
Sharing why she decided to keep Dom and Jean’s romance a secret, Sally told HELLO! and other press last year: “It’s like a little secret between the audience and Dom and Jean.
Sally Lindsay and Steve Edge star in the mystery drama
“When people meet each other in middle life, they take their time because there’s no big rush. What are they rushing towards?” continued Sally, adding that as a middle-aged couple, there’s no pressure to discuss having children or buying a house together.
“I wanted to express that because I don’t think you see that on television a lot,” said the former Coronation Street star. “You don’t see couples of that age doing it like they do. I have lots of mates who met in their 40s and 50s, and usually that’s the way it happens. They just take their own sweet time.”
The Madame Blanc Mysteries will return to 5 later this year.
