South Australian Police Launch Urgent Search for Wanted Man Believed to Be Armed

South Australia Police have issued an urgent public appeal as officers continue searching for a wanted man believed to pose a significant risk to the community.

Authorities are attempting to locate 34-year-old Detlan Cann, who is wanted in connection with what police have described as serious recent offending. Investigators have not released further details about the alleged offences, but have warned the public that Cann may be armed and should not be approached under any circumstances.

Police say Cann is known to spend time in Adelaide’s northern suburbs as well as the Mount Gambier area, and are asking residents in those communities to remain alert.

According to the description released by police, Cann is Caucasian, approximately 175 centimetres tall, with a slim build, short black hair, and an unkempt beard. Officers believe he may still be in South Australia, although his current whereabouts remain unknown.

Authorities are urging anyone who sees Cann or has information about his location to avoid making contact with him. Instead, members of the public are asked to notify police immediately so trained officers can respond safely.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 as soon as possible. If Cann is sighted or there is an immediate threat to public safety, people should call Triple Zero (000) without delay.
