HE THOUGHT HE COULD HIDE..! – A Melbourne man allegedly blew more than three times the legal blood alcohol limit after crashing his mum’s car into a bridge and fleeing the scene before being found hiding at a relative’s home.

The 22-year-old allegedly fled the scene on foot before he was found hiding in a nearby relative’s home.

A man is facing several charges after crashing his mums car in Victoria

One Victorian driver is not only in trouble with the police but also his mother after an alleged drunken morning crash in Victoria.

A 22‑year‑old man is facing a hefty repair bill — and an awkward conversation with his mum — after allegedly crashing her car into a bridge while drunk in outer Melbourne

Police allege the man was speeding along Irving Rd, near Falling Water Drive, at Pakenham about 10am when he lost control, mounted a nature strip and became airborne.

The car ploughed through several metal bollards before slamming into a bridge pylon, leaving the vehicle extensively damaged.

Witnesses called police, but officers say the driver fled on foot. He was found a short time later hiding inside a relative’s nearby home and taken into custody.

Pakenham officers breath‑tested the man, who allegedly returned a 0.15 reading — three times the legal limit.

He was also allegedly driving on a suspended licence, and police say a small quantity of cocaine was found in the vehicle.

The man was released and is expected to be charged on summons with drink‑driving and other traffic offences.

Police noted the worst penalty may still be to come “explaining to his mum that her car is now a write‑off.”
