Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement star in Disney+’s new comedy-drama, Alice and Steve, which is available to stream from 8 June

Disney+ has shared a first look clip at the “next must-watch” comedy-drama, Alice and Steve, starring Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement.

The six-part series, which arrives on 8 June, follows the titular longtime friends whose close bond turns into a bitter feud when Steve starts dating Alice’s 26-year-old daughter.

This thoroughly entertaining series should be on your watchlist this month. Nicola is brilliant as the impulsive, fun and slightly eccentric Alice, who takes extreme measures to end Steve’s relationship with her daughter, Izzy (Topol Margalith).

The first look clip teases Alice’s first attempt to break them up, as she invites Steve and Izzy, along with her Gen Z friends, to her house for dinner.

“You do realise this is probably a trap,” Steve tells Izzy as they arrive at the front door.

Taking an optimistic approach, Izzy tells him, “Maybe we could show her that this is a good thing. I like her best friend, and how nice that she already really, really loves the guy I’m dating.”

What is Alice and Steve about?

Billed as “the next must-watch, outrageously witty comedy drama,” the series follows Alice and Steve, whose rock-solid friendship is tested to its limits when Steve starts dating Alice’s 26-year-old daughter Izzy.

Alice tries everything she can to end their relationship but unfortunately for her, Steve’s more than ready for the attack.

The synopsis continues: “What begins as a perfect friendship devolves into an all-out feud.”

Who stars in Alice and Steve?

Nicola Walker (The Split, Unforgotten) leads the cast as Alice, alongside Jemaine Clement (What We Do in the Shadows, Flight of The Conchords) as Steve.

They’re joined by Joel Fry (Cruella) as Alice’s husband Daniel and Yali Topol Margalith (The Tattooist of Auschwitz) as Izzy.
