Horror Moment Teen Rider Is Sent Flying in E-Scooter Crash With Car as Chil-ling Sydney Footage Emerges
This is the moment a teenager is left laying in the road after his e-scooter and a hatchback crashed in a Sydney suburb.
The shocking incident in Berala was captured on a nearby CCTV camera at around 5.20pm on July 8.
The e-scooter rider, a 16-year-old boy, was travelling southbound down Oxford Street, while the driver was heading onto Mount Auburn Road.
The footage shows the rider crossing the road before colliding with the vehicle as it enters the intersection.
The vehicle, a white hatchback, is then seen to drive away from the scene, with the teenager left in a heap on the road.

The incident left the boy in excruciating pain, having suffered several injuries. including chest and head pain.
Now, two weeks on from the incident, his mother is urging the driver to identify themselves, as police continue to investigate.
The mother, who has not been identified, described the incident to 7News as “very, very, scary”.
“He’s not coping mentally, he’s not coping physically,” she said.
“He’s in a lot of pain, spending the time he’s not in hospital or getting scans done on the bed.”

Following the crash, the family immediately took the teen to hospital, not alerting police until the following morning.
The mother said she had since been doorknocking her neighbours in a desperate bid for more information, as well as passing the CCTV footage onto the police.
A spokesman for NSW Police confirmed the force is aware of the incident.

“On Thursday, July 9, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports an e-scooter and a car had collided in Sydney’s south west.
“Police were told about 5.15pm on Wednesday, July 8, a 16-year-old boy was riding an e-scooter southbound on Oxford Street, Berala, before he collided with a white hatchback near the intersection of Mount Auburn Road.
“The boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Auburn Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”
