A baby boy will grow up without his mother after she was killed in a house fire on Queensland‘s Sunshine Coast.
Kallangur woman Isabella Nicholls, 21, suffered significant burns when her Buderim unit erupted into flames on Sunday night.
She was rushed to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital but died hours later surrounded by her family.
It is understood that two miniature dachshunds perished in the blaze, which took firefighters an hour to extinguish.
A second woman, 32, was also at the unit at the time but managed to escape uninjured.
Ms Nicholls is survived by her baby son Elijah.
‘Our family is absolutely shattered by this unimaginable loss, and the heartbreak is beyond words,’ a family statement read.
‘Isabella was a vibrant, kind, and beautiful soul with her whole life ahead of her. She had a smile that could light up any room and a contagious laugh that none of us will ever forget.’

Investigations into what caused the fatal blaze continues
‘She touched the lives of so many people with her warmth, compassion, and beautiful spirit, and her absence has left an irreplaceable void in all of our hearts.’
A fundraiser has been set up to raise proceeds for Ms Nicholls’ memorial service.
‘We want to give her the beautiful and dignified farewell she deserves, while allowing our family the time and space to grieve without the overwhelming financial burden,’ the family added.
‘Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during the most heartbreaking time of our lives.’
An investigation into the cause of the blaze continues.
Police are open to all lines of inquiry.
‘The scene was quite confronting for all of the emergency services that attended,’ Detective Senior Sergeant Robert Lowry said.
‘I feel for the family of the deceased lady, and I understand that the family is also receiving support.’
The entire complex was evacuated and a public safety order was put in place due to the fire being in close proximity to a petrol station.
Evacuated neighbours were able to return to their homes on Monday.
