Twisted New Evidence Emerges After Australia’s ‘Bu-ri-ed Alive’ Miracle, Sending Detectives D-o-wn a Chil-ling Path
Police are investigating whether Sydney’s latest gangland shooting victim could have been targeted as “revenge” over the alleged acts of his brother, who is wanted in connection with a gruesome alleged murder plot.
Jack Cheung, 34, died outside his Carlingford home last Wednesday morning after being found slumped in his Hyundai i30 parked in the driveway.
Chilling drone footage leaked on social media appeared to show a hooded figure walking away from the white car, with its driver’s side door left open and headlights on.
News.com.au can reveal the dead man’s younger brother Harry Cheung is wanted by police for questioning in connection to the shooting of a man who was buried alive in a shallow grave but survived.

On July 21, 2024, a 23-year-old man from NSW was lured to Queensland by a group of males apparently not knowing their motive.
Police believe Harry Cheung was among this group.
The man was shot in the head through the eye with the bullet lodged in his brain. He was then buried in a shallow grave.
Police said that unbeknown to the offenders, who thought the man was dead, the 23-year-old crawled out of the grave and made his way to a nearby service station in Jimboomba.
“Covered in dirt … the man asked staff not to call emergency services (but) he collapsed shortly after, prompting them to seek help. He was taken to hospital,” NSW police said in a statement later.

Police released CCTV of a white Hyundai Getz seen at a roadhouse in Nambucca on the mid-north coast on Saturday 20 July 2024 – the day before the alleged attempted murder.
Police sources told news.com.au that investigators were looking at whether Harry Cheung’s alleged involvement in the shooting was related to the killing of his brother.
Harry Cheung is believed to be somewhere abroad.
Drone footage taken at the scene of Jack Cheung’s death this week was accompanied by a message, purported to be from the “Albanian mafia”, which appeared to reference recent underworld conflicts.
“In the same way that our beloved brother, the coconut, was returned to us, in the same way we will return your brother to you,” it read when translated into English.
“The Alameddine family awaits your turn, blood will be taken soon.”

Reference to “the coconut” could be alluding to slain gangster Lorenzo Lemalu, a suspected leader of the Coconut Cartel who was shot dead in Vietnam two months ago.
He was nicknamed “The Coconut” and his group was locked in a feud with the Alameddine organised crime network at the time of his death.
Other alleged senior figures of the Coconut Cartel have tagged their locations as being in Albania in social media posts, including one from Iziah Utai just two days ago.
There is no suggestion Utai was involved in Mr Cheung’s death.
Police are investigating whether Mr Cheung had been dead for several hours before he was discovered just before 7am.
Neighbours on North Rocks Rd have reported hearing loud noises between 5am and 5.30am.
Car enthusiast Mr Cheung was not known to have significant criminal ties or history but police confirmed he was “known” to them.

He was last month sentenced to a nine-month conditional release order after being found guilty of possessing an unauthorised firearm, believed to be an airgun.
“We do not believe it was a case of mistaken identity. We believe it was not a random attack,” Acting Superintendent Michael Marinello said.
On Friday NSW Police announced Homicide Squad detectives had seized a white Porsche SUV as part of the investigation into the shooting.
Officers attached to Strike Force Imperon raided a home in South Wentworthville on Thursday night and arrested three people for questioning.
Two of those people were released without charge while a 66-year-old man was charged with having a suspected stolen vehicle on his premises and drug possession.
He was granted bail after appearing at Parramatta Local Court on Friday.
