If you’re looking for someone to help you advance your career, would you choose Blake Lively? Well according to reports, for some reason, Meghan Markle has.

It’s no secret that the Gossip Girl alum has been getting a ton of bad press for months now, but that apparently hasn’t stopped the Suits alum from enlisting Lively’s help. It’s being claimed that Meghan is hoping Lively can “salvage” and ultimately advance her career.

How Meghan and Lively know each other

For anyone wondering how the two women even know each other, Page Six reported in 2024 that they both attended Samantha Stone’s baby shower in West Hollywood, along with a handful of other celebrities, including Crystal Kung Minkoff and Full House actress Marla Sokoloff.

Meghan was also a keynote speaker at the Time100 Summit, while Lively was honored on the 2025 Time 100 list.

During an appearance on Sky News Australia, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield pointed out that the report also claims that Meghan and Prince Harry have become so friendly with Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, that they have even stayed at the actors’ residence when they visited New York because the Sussexes “like the extra security” provided there.

Schofield also said that if the reports are true, it may have to do with the fact that “Blake has good contacts in the fashion world and we’re currently seeing Meghan trying to break out in that space … But good luck, name a more toxic duo.”

Show host Rita Panahi added that the thought of Meghan and Lively teaming up would cause a “PR rep to have a nervous breakdown.”

Lively and Meghan both reportedly have bad blood with Taylor Swift

Another thing Meghan and Lively reportedly have in common is some bad blood with Taylor Swift.

Fans remember that the pop star and Lively were besties for years, but attending NFL games and being spotted out at dinners together stopped when the actress became embroiled in her legal battle with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni. A source told Page Six that Swift and Lively are no longer friends, saying, “They’ve had no contact” since last winter. A second insider also confirmed that the ladies have not spoken to each other. The two haven’t been photographed together since 2024.

As for Meghan and Swift, they were never friends and when the Duchess of Sussex wrote the singer a personalized note asking her to appear on her podcast, Swift had her people decline. There have also been claims that Prince Harry’s wife thought Swift was intentionally trying to steal the spotlight from her by announcing her engagement to Travis Kelce, the same day With Love, Meghan Season 2 was released on Netflix.

Moreover, the “Anti-Hero” artist is close with Meghan’s brother-in-law, Prince William, and has been for several years. She even had the Prince of Wales and two of his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, go backstage and hang out with her and Kelce after they attended her The ERAs Tour in London. Swift later posted a pic on social media of them all smiling together that evening.
