While everyone (rightfully) flips their shit over the six-figure swag bags being handed out to this year’s upcoming Oscar nominees, we’d be remiss in not pointing out that Lil Wayne gave his daughter, Reginae, a BMW with a Ferrari chaser for her 16th birthday. This information was documented and delivered by a special edition of MTV’s My Super Sweet 16, a show that the channel pulled out of mothballs for the express purpose of watching Lil Wayne fete Lil’est Wayne with $400,000 of rolling steel.

The showcase showdown kicks off with a cherry red BMW X6 SAV (like an SUV but with less utility) rolling up the driveway, delighting young Reginae. (“THIS. IS. LIFE.”) Earlier in the show she had asked for a Ferrari, but upon seeing it’s not gonna happen, she plays it cool. She’s still grateful. Then Weezy pulls that dad move where he acts like he’s found a quarter in your ear, except it’s a $319,000 Ferrari F12berlinetta with a hood stripe.

Listen, you can get all up in arms about how absolutely absurd it is to give a vehicle capable of hitting 211 miles per hour to a kid who isn’t even old enough to vote or shoot a terrorist in the face. But Wayne’s worked his raspy ass off to earn whatever’s in his bank account, and if he wants to spend it on his daughter, who he clearly loves and cherishes–and who doesn’t even sniff the top 20 of all-time most-spoiled Sweet 16 subjects–that’s his right. Besides, if I were rich enough to pad my dream garage under the guise of giving a supercar to my kid, you’d best believe that my 16-month-old daughter would be getting a Ford GT for her second birthday.
