YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT SHE SAID… — MAFS STAR BEC ZACHARIA FINALLY “CONFESSES” SOMETHING TO FANS AFTER WEEKS OF CONTROVERSY IN BALI
Bec Zacharia has finally undergone the controversial ‘Barbie waist’ surgery in Bali, after changing her mind multiple times over the past two weeks.
The Married At First Sight bride shared a video on Instagram on Tuesday where she documented the process after initially backing out.
First, Bec confessed that she had been misleading her fans into believing she had already had the work done, before vanishing from social media for several days.
‘I’ve been lying to you. I haven’t had surgery yet. I’ve been in Bali, it’s been almost three weeks,’ the 35-year-old said at the start of the video.
She then explained that she was heading into the hospital that same day.
‘It’s been not any fault of my own, but today is the day. I know I promised you guys transparency, so I’m actually gonna take you in with me,’ she said.

‘I’ve been lying to you. I haven’t had surgery yet. I’ve been in Bali, it’s been almost three weeks,’ the 35-year-old said at the start of the video, before documenting her operation
Bec said she hoped to silence critics and those branding her trip to Bali for the surgery as a PR stunt.
‘There are delays in life, ones that I can’t control,’ she added, before explaining that she would be sharing every step of the process on social media.
The reality star was then shown arriving at the clinic, where she stripped down into a hospital gown and was attached to IV drips.
Next, she was led into the operating theatre while holding the hands of two nurses.
The clip then cut to Bec laying in bed as she recovered from the operation, while wearing a medical corset around her waist.
‘I’m out of surgery. It all went really well. This is what I look like. I’m not hiding anything from you guys,’ she said.
‘The pain is probably a 3 out of 10 right now. I’m comfortable. The hospital was incredible and now it’s just about making sure that I take you guys along on the journey of my results as they go,’ she continued.
‘There was a delay but it was well worth it. I’m in bed and you’ll be seeing me in a corset for the next 12 weeks.’

The controversial body-contouring procedure, which is not currently available in Australia, reshapes the lower floating ribs to create the appearance of a dramatically smaller waist without removing the bones.
It has become increasingly popular among influencers travelling to Bali, but has also attracted fierce criticism from medical professionals and social media users concerned about unrealistic beauty standards.
Just days ago, Bec had pleaded for privacy despite spending a fortnight documenting every step of the procedure online.
Her online silence prompted concern from fans before she resurfaced with a statement asking for privacy.
‘For this short period of time… I’m respectfully asking for a little privacy. Thank you all for your understanding, your patience and for continuing to support me,’ she said in a social media post.
The update comes after Bec spent almost two weeks sharing every twist and turn of her decision to undergo the increasingly popular rib contouring procedure, including moments where she dramatically changed her mind before she said she was ultimately going ahead with the surgery.
Last month, Bec revealed she had decided to proceed with the controversial cosmetic operation after initially cancelling it following a wave of online criticism.
Just days earlier, the former reality bride had stunned followers by backing out of the operation at the last minute after arriving at the Bali clinic.

The controversial influencers’ trip to Bali promoting ‘Barbie waist’ surgery raised questions about whether the whole thing was just a giant PR stunt after MAFS bride Awhina Rutene, who was also part of the group, failed to make it to the operating table.
In a video posted to social media on Tuesday, Rutene explained her surgery had been delayed after complications involving the newly-opened Bali hospital.
‘I have been flooded with messages from you all asking about surgery,’ she said.
‘I said I would update you guys before and after surgery. Unfortunately, surgery got pushed back.
‘It’s a brand-new hospital in Bali. But I had to fly home. I just couldn’t swing staying longer, and Lennon was missing me for sure, and I’d been away for eight days already.’
Awhina insisted she still planned to return later this year.
‘But I am rebooking. I am looking at later in the year, and when I do go back, obviously I’ll bring you guys all along for that journey,’ she added.
The sponsored campaign, which included flying a group of reality stars and content creators to the Indonesian island to promote the procedure, generated weeks of headlines after Bec, one of the two MAFS stars on the trip, documented every emotional twist and turn of her decision to go under the knife.
