Prince Harry has officially landed in the UK for a five-day visit to London and Birmingham, but he has come without his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet. The Duke of Sussex will begin a week of engagements with an event in London on Tuesday for the Invictus Games. He landed in the UK just hours after his accommodation offer at Buckingham Palace was revoked.
One insider reportedly claimed the “King’s patience snapped” after Prince Harry repeatedly changed his mind over Palace accommodation, caused disruption for staff through the last-minute changes, and fuelled further public confusion with conflicting statements about the arrangements. The “constant to-ing and fro-ing” was said to have left the King’s patience “worn extremely thin”, with one source describing the situation to the Daily Mail as causing “disruption and disrespect” to his staff.
