Rap Community Revisits JayDaYoungan’s Murd3r: Three Years Later, No Suspects Arrested

Nearly three years after the murder of rapper JayDaYoungan, the rap community and his fans are revisiting the tragic story, as the suspect in the case has still not been caught. The case continues to raise questions about justice and safety in the music industry.

On the evening of Wednesday, July 27, 2022, JayDaYoungan and his father, Kenyatta Scott, were sitting in the front yard of their home in Bogalusa, Louisiana, when they were ambushed by five gunmen. A black truck pulled up, and three individuals jumped out with firearms. As they tried to run inside the house, two more gunmen approached from the side and opened fire.

In the attack, JayDaYoungan was hit at least eight times and succumbed to his injuries, while his father was shot twice in the arm. Kenyatta Scott was later treated and has since recovered, and his condition is now stable.

The father believes the attack was motivated by jealousy over JayDaYoungan’s success in the rap world and insists his son had no enemies. He also does not believe the shooting was gang-related. “[He was] a good, humble, and respectful kid,” Kenyatta Scott said.

The Bogalusa Police Department reported the incident, but nearly three years later, no suspects have been arrested, leaving many unanswered questions about justice for JayDaYoungan.

Currently, the rap community is actively revisiting old videos, social media posts, and news coverage, calling for justice for the young rapper. They are recounting the events of that fateful day and emphasizing the need for transparency in the investigation and safety for artists in the music industry.

Representatives for JayDaYoungan have not commented on the recent developments, but the case continues to be a focal point for media and fans alike.
