A heartbreaking domestic violence case out of Robinsonville, Mississippi, has left a community mourning after a mother of two was fatally shot inside her home following years of reported abuse and escalating threats.

Authorities say Nykeria Jude, 30, was killed on July 11, 2025, during a violent incident involving her former partner, Markello Braxton, 41. The shooting also left the couple’s 6-year-old daughter, Maralaysia, and Nykeria’s 24-year-old son, Marquavious Young, injured.

According to reports, the incident took place at a residence on Soleil Drive in Robinsonville. Emergency responders arrived to find Nykeria fatally wounded at the scene, while both children were rushed to hospitals in Memphis for treatment.

Investigators later revealed that Braxton fled after the shooting. Days later, on July 14, authorities discovered him dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound near the area, bringing a tragic end to the manhunt.
