Princess Eugenie has returned to Instagram for the first time in six months, posting loved up snaps with her husband to celebrate his birthday.

The royal posted a series of pictures on her Instagram story last night of herself and husband Jack Brooksbank in what is the first activity on her account since November last year. The pictures were posted in celebration of Jack’s 40th birthday, with Eugenie, 36, captioning one snap of him at the beach with: “Happy 40th my love…”

Another picture shows Jack playing with their son at the beach, enjoying the sunshine and sea air. She also posted a picture of the couple from their younger years, captioning it: “Here’s to another 16… xx”.

The couple were married on October 12 2018, at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, and have been together for 16 years.

Amid the birthday stories Princess Eugenie also posted to reveal she is pregnant with her third child. In a sweet snap, the princess shared an image of her two sons looking down at an ultrasound image and said: “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!”

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.

“August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family. His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”

It comes as Eugenie was pictured with her sister Beatrice looking “haunted” amid the fallout from her parents’ relationship with disgraced paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Princess Eugenie revealed she is expecting her third child

The sisters were spotted making a rare joint outing in Mayfair, London, as they went for lunch this weekend.

While Eugenie and Beatrice were seen strolling through London after dining at an exclusive spot, body language expert Judi James described the images as “haunting”.

She told the Mirror: “While Eugenie appears comfortable putting on a display of resilience and bravado for the cameras, sporting a wide wall-to-wall smile to suggest life is nothing other than perfect, her older sister Beatrice looks less able to bluff it out here, with her gestures and facial expression hinting that she has been hit hard by the fallout of her parent’s dramas.

“Beatrice walks behind her sister here, dressed in a very drab black on a warm sunny day, with her choice of outfit suggesting a desire to avoid attracting attention.”

The expert added: “Her facial expression looks strained and unhappy here. Her eyes have a haunted expression, and her lips are clamped shut. Eugenie seems to try for a more carefree demeanour here, looking especially cheerful when she is walking next to her equally over-smiling husband Jack.”
