Excitement will be in the air for the Royal Family today as it is officially one week until Peter Phillips marries NHS nurse Harriet Sperling. The pair will exchange vows on June 6 in an intimate ceremony, attended by a number of Royal Family members.

While some of the most senior royals are set to attend, some members of the family are believed to have been snubbed from the guest list. This includes Peter’s cousin Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, who quit royal life in 2020. While it is believed they won’t be at the wedding as Peter has simply lost contact with Harry, one royal expert said there is another reason at play.

This reason, according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, is because the pair “are not trusted”.

Speaking exclusively to The Daily Express, Richard Fitzwilliams said: “Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals and then, for financial gain, ruthlessly attacked the royal family, causing a deep and public rift.

“Obviously, they were not invited to the wedding.

“They are not trusted and this is a private wedding not a PR circus, which is what it would turn into if they had been invited and actually showed up!! “

Their daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, although invited, are also not likely to attend the wedding as it is believed they don’t want to overshadow the happy day by generating interest as a result of who their parents are.

It is believed senior royals like King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Princess Catherine will attend.

Both Peter, 48, and Harriet, 45, have been married before.
