Pippa Middleton surprised locals after she was seen taking part in a charity run organized by a nearby school.

On Sunday, May 17, Kate Middleton’s younger sister was seen jogging at Kintbury 5, a five-mile run put together by Kintbury St Mary’s Primary School near Hungerford, according to the Daily Mail.

The annual event helps raise funds for the school to help provide resourcing that supports the children’s learning, according to the school.

The recent appearance comes after Pippa, 42, and her husband, James Matthews, faced backlash from residents after reportedly blocking public access to a footpath on their private estate in England.

The two, who have lived at the home since 2020, received criticism after the estate’s previous owner,  Sir Terence Conran, who died in 2020, reportedly allowed locals to use the private footpath.

“I like to walk, and I don’t see why I can’t walk there. I have been walking along there for 50 years. When Sir Terence had it, he had no objections. I think we should have a right to roam,” one villager said, according to the Daily Mail.

Another villager was in agreement saying: “I think it is a shame. It is a lovely walk. Although it wasn’t officially a footpath, Sir Terence didn’t have any objections. He was very nice. Everyone liked him. He was quite involved in the village.”

“It feels they are depriving the village of an amenity,” they continued.

The dispute reportedly began in March 2024, when the estate manager for Matthews submitted a Highway Declaration Notice to West Berkshire Council, which critics described as an attempt to assert private control over the land.

According to the Daily Mail, Eugene Futcher, chair of the West Berkshire Ramblers, a walking group, responded by filing a counter application seeking to have the route officially designated as a public right of way.

Matthews recently attended the first three days of the six-day Planning Inspectorate hearing without Pippa, according to GB News. The hearing will determine if the footpath is a public right of way.
