Federal prosecutors have reportedly placed a series of text messages, location records, and witness statements at the center of their expanding case involving rapper Lil Durk and individuals allegedly connected to Only The Family (OTF), arguing that the evidence helps establish the existence of a coordinated criminal enterprise.

The allegations, which remain unproven in court, have drawn widespread attention because of the volume of communications and digital evidence prosecutors claim to have collected.

According to court filings and investigative materials referenced by prosecutors, text messages exchanged among various defendants are being used to support allegations that members of the group communicated about ongoing investigations, monitored law enforcement activity, and discussed individuals believed to be cooperating with authorities.

Federal prosecutors contend that some of the communications relied on coded language, making their meaning difficult to interpret without additional context. Investigators claim those messages, when viewed alongside other evidence, reveal efforts to conceal intentions and activities from law enforcement.

The text messages have become one of the most closely scrutinized aspects of the case.

Prosecutors have also pointed to location data and witness testimony as key elements supporting their allegations. According to the government, digital records allegedly place certain individuals at locations relevant to the investigation and help establish travel patterns connected to events under review.

A major focus of the federal case centers on the killing of Saviay’a Robinson, known as Little Pab, who was fatally shot during an attack that authorities say was intended to target rapper Quando Rondo.

Federal investigators allege that members of OTF participated in planning and coordinating activities connected to the incident. Prosecutors claim evidence includes communications allegedly arranging travel to California and location data that they believe supports portions of their timeline.

Among the details highlighted by investigators is the alleged presence of OTF affiliate Doodie Lo, also known as Dee, at an In-N-Out Burger location near the scene of the shooting. Prosecutors argue that the information is relevant because it helps place individuals connected to the investigation in the area around the time of the attack.

The government has also outlined what it believes was the motive behind the alleged conspiracy.

According to prosecutors, the killing of rapper King Von in 2020 created a desire for retaliation that ultimately led to plots targeting Quando Rondo beginning in 2021. Federal attorneys argue that multiple pieces of evidence point toward a continuing effort to seek revenge for Von’s death.

Defense attorneys are expected to challenge those allegations and the interpretation of the evidence presented by prosecutors.

Another unusual aspect of the case involves music videos.

Federal authorities have referenced unreleased projects reportedly associated with Lil Durk and Quando Rondo. Investigators argue that certain scenes appearing in the videos reflect ongoing hostility between rival groups and may help illustrate motive.

Critics of that approach have argued that artistic expression should not automatically be interpreted as evidence of criminal intent, while prosecutors maintain that the videos must be considered alongside the broader collection of evidence.

Prosecutors have additionally raised questions about a highly publicized interview in which Lil Durk appeared with approximately $1 million in cash.

Federal investigators reportedly suspect that the money may have been connected to payments associated with the alleged plot against Little Pab. No court finding has established that claim, and it remains one of several allegations expected to be contested as the case moves forward.

For now, the text messages remain at the center of the government’s narrative.
