A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the boss of a leading technology firm died at his £2.5million country home.
Neil Muller, 54, suffered stab wounds to his chest early on Sunday morning.
A woman, 55, was arrested an hour later, police said. She has since been released on bail.
Mr Muller was found injured at his gated, five-bedroom property in the upmarket village of Claverdon, Warwickshire.
Paramedics were called at 6.15am but he was declared dead at the scene at 6.37am.
Warwickshire police said a woman from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of murder at 7.33am.
The force said an investigation was underway and there was ‘no wider risk to the public’.
Mr Muller had recently been appointed as CEO of technology firm Node4. In a statement a Node4 spokesman said: ‘We are absolutely devastated by the death of our CEO Neil Muller.
‘Although Neil only recently joined Node4, he made a meaningful impact in a short space of time.
‘He brought real energy, momentum and passion to the business, and his loss will be deeply felt by people across Node4 and the wider industry.
‘Our thoughts are with Neil’s family, our colleagues and everyone who knew Neil at this very difficult time.’
Announcing his appointment in April this year the firm said he had been hired to ‘enhance its AI-focused managed services platform, alongside ERP, CRM and data analytics solutions’.
The firm described him as a ‘seasoned leader’ who was previously in charge at MSP Digital Space for seven years.
Before that he was CEO at telecoms firm Daisy. He left the role after a £1billion sale of the firm fell through, according to reports.
Mr Muller was also manager of local football side Claverdon FC. He was married and had two children.

A police car is seen outside a property in Claverdon after a man suffered stab wounds
Mr Muller’s father Brian, 81, told the Daily Mail: ‘It’s a peculiar situation, we are still waiting to hear what happened.
‘I had a phone call from the police at 9am on Monday morning to say Neil had died but we’ve not been told anything else.
‘We’ve not had a visit from the police or anything, so we just don’t know.
‘We only spoke on the phone last week, but sometimes we go a few months without hearing from him. He’s a busy man with work.’
Locals said Mr Muller was involved in village life.
‘Neil did a lot for the local football club,’ said one, who did not want to be named.
‘I heard about it in the village shop this morning. It is a real shock and a real loss to the village.’
On Tuesday, a police car was parked on the driveway of the Muller family home in the village close to Stratford-on-Avon.
Also parked on the drive were five other cars.
In a Facebook post from 2024, Claverdon football club announced Mr Muller’s retirement as assistant manager of their men’s team although he seems to have been involved again at the time of his death.
The decision to appoint ‘Mul’ as they called him was, ‘one of the greatest decisions we’ve ever made’.
He was photographed next to an array of trophies won by the club during his time.
In the post the club said he remained a sponsor.
Locals said his death came the night after an end of season award ceremony held at the Red Lion pub.
It is not known if Mr Muller attended.
Club chairman Charlie Waterworth said: ‘I have heard the news but it is just too early to be making any statements.
‘I am out of the country. I don’t know the circumstances. It would be wrong to say anything.’
A worker in the Red Lion pub said: ‘It has come as a massive shock and we really don’t want to say anything. It is too early.’
Last year, Mr Muller took part in a 200-mile bike ride which raised more than £60,000 for a Warwickshire children’s charity
