A devoted single mother of seven children has been killed in a horrific car crash on Mother’s Day.
Coomera mum Rebecca Hayes, 41, was driving a Mitsubishi ASX when it was involved in a collision with a Mazda 3 hatchback and Mazda BT-50 dual cab ute along Maudsland Road in the Gold Coast hinterland about 12pm on Sunday.
Ms Hayes suffered critical injuries in the crash and died at the scene.
Her 11-year-old daughter was also in the car and was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
Police have confirmed she is now stable.
Kieara Anderson paid tribute to the “beautiful mum” saying their hearts were shattered by her sudden death.
Rebecca Hayes was remembered as a beautiful mother, daughter, friend and one of the most devoted mums by Kieara Anderson who set up a GoFundMe for her family.
“Rebecca Hayes was a beautiful mother, daughter, friend and one of the most devoted mums you could ever meet,” she said.
“Tragically taken far too soon on Mother’s Day, Bec leaves behind her seven beautiful babies whose worlds have been turned upside down in an instant.
“There are simply no words that could ever explain the heartbreak these children are now facing.
“To lose your mum is unimaginable … but to lose her on a day meant to celebrate her love makes this tragedy even more painful.”
Ms Anderson is raising money for Ms Hayes’ family through a GoFundMe page, which has already received more than $21,000.

She said Ms Hayes was a selfless, fiercely loving single mother who dedicated every part of herself to her children.
“Her babies were her entire world, and anyone who knew Bec knew how hard she fought every single day to provide a safe, loving and happy home for them,” she said.
“As her loved ones now try to navigate this unbearable loss, we are asking for help to ease the financial burden left behind.
“Funds raised will go directly toward giving Bec the beautiful farewell she deserves, supporting funeral expenses, and helping provide stability and support for her children as they face life without their mum.”
Ms Hayes’ stepdaughter Kiara paid tribute to her in a heartfelt post on social media, writing her stepmum was the light in so many lives.
