A 22-year-old man was fatally st@bbed in Gosford… Police reveal a shocking detail about the relationship between the victim and the 15-year-old suspect
A teenage boy is being hunted by police after a 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed on the NSW Central Coast, with detectives stating the attack was not random.
Emergency crews were called to Mann St in Gosford about 7.30pm on Tuesday after reports a man had been stabbed in the chest and abdomen.
Paramedics treated the 22-year-old at the scene before he was taken to Gosford Hospital, where he later died.
Police believe the victim and the 15-year-old had both been travelling on the same bus before getting off in Gosford and walking to the main street, where a fight broke out.
Investigators said the pair boarded the bus at different stops, though what sparked the confrontation was still unknown.
Superintendent Darryl Jobson said detectives believed the two were known to each other and stressed the violence was not a random attack.
“This is an incident in which we believe the parties were known to each other,” Superintendent Jobson said.
“There is no threat to the broader community.”
