A female police officer has been stabbed in the neck and her suspected attacker shot in the leg in a daylight attack in Adelaide’s north.
Police said officers responded to an incident at Elizabeth East on Wednesday morning, where the officer was stabbed while confronting an armed man.
The 27-year-old man was then shot in the leg by police.
His injuries are not considered life-threatening, and he is in police custody while receiving treatment in hospital.
The officer was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is also receiving treatment.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Anyone who witnessed what happened, particularly motorists with dashcam footage from the area, is being urged to contact authorities.
