Jana Armstrong’s Sister Says the Warning Signs Only Became Clear After It Was Too Late

In the weeks since Queensland mother Jana Armstrong’s death, one question has continued to haunt her family:
Could anyone have seen the warning signs sooner?
For Jana’s sister, Faith Isaacs, the answer isn’t simple. In an emotional interview, she revealed that several moments leading up to Jana’s disappearance seemed ordinary at the time—but now carry an entirely different meaning.
From a text message that “didn’t sound like her” to subtle changes in Jana’s behavior, Faith says hindsight has transformed small details into memories she can no longer ignore.
“That Wasn’t Like Her”
One of the most troubling moments came after Faith sent Jana a message following what would become their final meeting together.
A reply arrived.
At first, she thought little of it.
Now, however, Faith believes the message didn’t sound like her sister at all.
Looking back, she has questioned whether someone else could have sent it—a possibility that has become one of the family’s most painful unanswered questions.
While investigators have not publicly stated who sent the message, Faith says it continues to trouble her every day.
The Clues That Only Made Sense Later

Faith says she has replayed her final conversations with Jana countless times.
Nothing during their last visit immediately suggested something was terribly wrong.
Only after Jana disappeared did seemingly ordinary moments begin standing out.
“There were a couple of things that weren’t right,” Faith said, explaining that those details only became significant after the tragedy unfolded.
Like many families affected by alleged domestic violence, she says the hardest part is wondering whether those quiet warning signs could have been recognized earlier.
A Mother’s Love Made the Alarm Bells Ring
For Faith, the biggest clue wasn’t actually the text message.
It was Jana’s baby.
Jana adored her four-month-old son and rarely spent time away from him.
When her sister could not be reached while the baby remained behind, Faith immediately sensed something was seriously wrong.
She has since described Jana as a devoted mother whose entire world revolved around her son.
Today, Faith is helping care for the little boy while ensuring he grows up knowing who his mother was.
A Family Searching for Meaning
Police have charged Jana Armstrong’s former partner, Dharminder Singh, with murder in connection with her death. He has also been charged with other offences related to the investigation. Through his lawyer, Singh has denied wrongdoing, and the allegations remain before the court.
As the legal process continues, Jana’s family says their focus has shifted toward remembering the woman they loved rather than the circumstances surrounding her death.
Faith hopes sharing her story may encourage others to trust their instincts if something feels different about someone they care about.
She says many warning signs can appear small or insignificant in the moment, only becoming clear after tragedy has already unfolded.
For her, that realization has become one of the heaviest parts of grieving her sister.
