Pete Wicks, a star of Strictly Come Dancing, has firmly stated “never again” following a significant career move.

The reality TV personality first gained recognition on The Only Way Is Essex in 2015, and has since appeared on various television shows including Celebs Go Dating, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, and as a participant on Strictly last year, where he was paired with Jowita Pryzstal.

Pete is now perhaps most recognised for his podcast Staying Relevant, which he hosts with his best mate and former Made In Chelsea star, Sam Thompson.

Their success has led them to take their show on tour and even publish a book about their experiences in the limelight.

“It takes a lot, we do so many different forms of content, the book is a longer form of content,” he explained to presenters Sarah Campbell and Ben Thompson.

“Sam has never done a book before, I’ve never done a book with Sam before.”

When questioned if he would consider doing it again, Pete responded: “Absolutely not so you better buy this one, it’s a one-time only thing, it’ll never happen again,” reports Wales Online.

Elsewhere during the interview, Pete recalled his and Sam’s friendship when it first started, saying they’ve spent the last eight years doing “ridiculous” things, as he joked: “I despise him for it.”

He went on: “We’re very different, we’re opposite ends of the scale, someone yesterday called us sunshine and grumpy.

“We met on a show eight years ago and Sam attached himself to me like a limpet to a rock and hasn’t let me go since.

“I’ve been stuck with him ever since then and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Sam added: “I knew he was going to be my best mate, and I mean that, I saw him and had always looked for a brother figure and the moment we met, it was just so fun, I’ve never laughed so much when we first met, that first month of filming together, I was like, I never want to let him go and I’ve phoned him everyday since.”

Pete was there to support Sam after he won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2023, while Sam was often in the audience cheering Pete on during his Strictly Come Dancing performances.

Reflecting on his time in the ballroom, Pete previously shared: “I still can’t believed I managed to get to [the semi-finals].”

Speaking on It Takes Two after his elimination, he shared his newfound love for dancing, saying: “When you’re doing it, as long as you’re enjoying it, that’s all that matters.”

“When you’re in it you don’t get a chance to reflect on some of the stuff you’ve done,” he added, reflecting on the “tough” weeks.

“One thing we never did was give up,” he added. “I’m proud of what we did.”
