Princess Anne Begins Major Five-Day Asia Tour as King Charles Entrusts Her With Key Royal Mission
Princess Anne has officially begun a significant five-day diplomatic tour across Asia, arriving in South Korea alongside her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, for a packed schedule of commemorative ceremonies, diplomatic meetings and charitable engagements.
The Princess Royal’s latest overseas mission highlights her continuing role as one of the Royal Family’s busiest working members, representing King Charles on a visit designed to strengthen Britain’s relationships with both South Korea and Thailand.
Honoring a Historic Anniversary
One of the most meaningful moments of Anne’s visit will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Imjin River, one of the Korean War’s most significant battles involving British forces.
The Princess Royal is expected to pay tribute to the servicemen who lost their lives during the conflict while recognizing the long-standing friendship between the United Kingdom and South Korea.
The commemoration forms a central part of her three-day stay in the Republic of Korea.
Strengthening UK–South Korea Relations
Beyond the memorial events, Princess Anne will participate in a series of official engagements showcasing the close partnership between the two nations.
Her itinerary includes visits highlighting cooperation in maritime industries, advanced technology, scientific innovation and academic research.
The programme also features meetings focused on educational partnerships and community initiatives that continue to strengthen ties between Britain and South Korea.
The visit builds on recent diplomatic exchanges, including King Charles III’s hosting of the South Korean President during a State Visit to Britain in 2023.
Continuing the Journey in Thailand
Following her engagements in South Korea, Princess Anne will travel to Thailand for the second leg of the tour.
While in Bangkok, she is scheduled to visit a school supported by Save the Children Thailand, one of the charitable organizations closely connected to her long-standing public service.
She will also meet with Thailand’s Prime Minister and attend an audience with Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand.
Supporting Science and Healthcare
Anne’s itinerary also includes meetings with women working in scientific research, alongside events highlighting regional health security and medical cooperation.
The Princess Royal will additionally attend cultural events celebrating the growing partnership between the United Kingdom and Thailand.
She is also expected to pay her respects to the late Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.
One of the Royal Family’s Hardest-Working Members
Princess Anne’s latest overseas mission once again reflects her reputation as one of the monarchy’s most dedicated working royals.
Known for maintaining one of the busiest schedules in the Royal Family, Anne continues to represent the Crown both at home and abroad through diplomatic visits, military commemorations and charitable work.
This marks her fourth official visit to Thailand and her first return to South Korea since attending the 2018 Winter Olympics, reinforcing decades of royal engagement across the region.
