Keith Urban is ‘in hiding’ as he shakes off the ’embarrassment’ of his split with wife Nicole Kidman, according to a report.

The 57-year-old country singer is said to be avoiding red carpets in an effort to dodge scrutiny as intense interest around his breakup swirls.

‘Things are just too awkward right now and Keith just doesn’t have the confidence to face all the press,’ an alleged source told Woman’s Day this week.

‘Part of him is embarrassed to show his face on a red carpet until things settle down with his divorce,’ the source said.

Keith is trying to focus on his music and his tour, the publication claims.

‘The last thing he needs is to overshadow his new show with all his personal issues,’ the source said.

It comes after Kidman showed her estranged husband what he was missing on Monday.

The 58-year-old movie star slipped into a skintight black dress with a slit up one leg that made the most of her size-two figure.

Kidman looked gussied up for an evening on the town as she let her honey blonde hair cascade down her ivory shoulders.

The siren – who used to be wed to Tom Cruise – was posing for Clé de Peau Beaute, a skincare brand she is the spokesman for. She posted the snapshots to her Instagram page.

The Oscar winner also dropped an Easter egg: she seemed to hint her ex-husband is slippery with her choice of jewellery.

The Australian pulled a Taylor Swift by modelling a gold snake necklace that was diamond-encrusted with a matching bracelet.

During the conversation with Harper’s Bazaar that was published last week, the Australian actress talked about experiencing a lot and ‘surviving’ it.

The fashion icon may have been addressing the heartbreak she is currently experiencing with country singer Urban, whom she has filed for divorce from after 19 years of marriage.

‘As I get older, I want to be able to share and impart the things I’ve learned. I’ve seen a lot, I’ve experienced a lot, and I’ve survived a lot,’ said the mother of four – she has two kids with Urban and two with Cruise.

Kidman then added: ‘I want to pass on some of that knowledge and that wisdom and whatever I’ve learned.’

And the part-time model also touched on moving past ‘pain’ and ‘devastation’.

When asked what the best part is about getting older she replied, ‘The experiences that you’ve accumulated.

‘So you go, “Oh, I’ve been here before. I actually know how to handle this now.” Or, “Maybe I haven’t been in this place, but I’ve experienced something similar to this, and I do know that I will get through it.”‘

‘There’s something to knowing that no matter how painful, or how difficult, or how devastating something is, there is a way through. You’re going to have to feel it.’
