🚨 85-Year-Old Man Allegedly Kidn-apped, Tor-tu-red and Ki-l-led in Sh0cking Case of Mistaken Identity
Four more men have been charged over the alleged fatal kidnapping of a Sydney grandfather, with one being accused of masterminding the plot.
Chris Baghsarian, 85, was allegedly kidnapped from his home in North Ryde and killed in a case of mistaken identity in February.
He was allegedly tortured on camera, with footage sent to the intended target’s family — but Baghsarian was not released when the video recipient, with alleged underworld links, said they did not recognise the man.
Baghsarian’s body was found near a golf course in Pitt Town 11 days after he disappeared.
Police have arrested seven people wth alleged relation to the grandfather’s death, with four more being arrested in recent weeks.
A 32-year-old man was arrested in Penrith on February 24 on an unrelated matter and refused bail on charges including possessing an unregistered firearm and drug supply.
Police allege ongoing investigations into Baghsarian’s death uncovered evidence the man had “coordinated and participated in the kidnapping and murder”.
He was arrested in Lithgow on July 8 and later charged with detain in company with intention to ransom and murder.
He was formally refused bail and is expected to appear before Penrith Local Court on July 17.
A day after the 32-year-old was charged, another 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with detain in company with intention to ransom and murder.
He was also refused bail and is expected to appear in Penrith Local Court on July 19.
Two other men, aged 19 and 21, were arrested on Monday and both charged with being an alleged accessory to the kidnapping and murder.
The older man was also charged with one count of drug possession and refused bail before the Mt Druitt Local Court on Monday.
the younger is expected to appear before the same court on Tuesday.
