A man has been charged with murdering his ex-partner at a home in Logan overnight.
Emergency services found the 27-year-old woman unresponsive in a bedroom at the home of the accused around 12:30am, and attempted CPR.
Her former partner, 37, has been charged with her murder.
Detective Inspector Ian Galpin said the Woody Point woman appeared to have died from asphyxiation.
“Police received a phone call from a man reporting that an unresponsive female was at his address following an assault. Police arrived at that location within minutes,” Detective Inspector Galpin said.

Asked about a recent spate of alleged domestic violence murders in Queensland, Detective Inspector Galpin said police and other services “came to work to prevent this exact thing”.
“Any life that is lost because of domestic and family violence has an obvious and devastating impact on family and friends but also on the wider community,” he said.
“What has happened this morning, it’s an absolutely tragic event.”
