Lucy admitted she was first diagnosed 18 months ago but has confirmed that despite treatment it is terminal.
She wrote: “Hi friends:) I wanted to share something with you all that I’ve kept to myself for a while but for various reasons would like to share now.
“I almost didn’t bother getting it checked. So I guess I’m saying don’t ignore anything – get everything checked out:”
The TV star admitted she “doesn’t know how long she has left.”

Lucy told her fans that she’s at peace with “whatever comes next,” as she shared the clip of her ringing the cancer treatment bell.
While she rang the bell, Lucy confessed she has been told by doctors it’s “too late” for her to receive Chemotherapy.
She said in the clip: “I’m not scared of whatever comes next.
“I’m at peace with it. I’ll see my Gracie sooner than expected, and for me, leaving my physical body just means going home.
“Any and all grieving is for my family; it’s far harder for them than for me.”
Lucy is best known for playing Dawn Tinsley in Ricky Gervais’ comedy The Office.
Dawn was a receptionist at Wernham Hogg’s Slough branch in the original UK version of The Office.
Her character battled an unfulfilling engagement, failed dreams of becoming an artist and a will-they-won’t they relationship with her colleague Tim.
Lucy later went on to star as Etta Candy in the Marvel film Wonder Woman and The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina.
While battling the cruel disease, Lucy explained that she’s asked her family to “make fun” of her as much as possible.
She added: “The thing that has been most vital to me is humour. I asked my friends and family to make fun of me as much as possible (which they’re really good at), and most importantly of all to not treat me like a sick person.
“There’s nothing that will make you feel more unwell than being treated as if you’re unwell.”
She told fans that the pain can be “something else,” and she’s often finding herself opting for a wheelchair to get around just like before.
Lucy made her telly debut on The Detectives – the same show her famous dad Jasper Carrott also starred in.
Jasper, whose real name is Robert Davis, is a comedian, actor and presenter – He was one of the UK’s most prominent TV stars throughout the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.
Lucy has been inundated with support from her friends, family and fans since sharing the news.
One pal said: “Truly one of the strongest people I know. I love you lots Lucy.”
A fan wrote: “Heartbroken to hear this, you’re one of my favourites of all time. I wish you nothing but the best and so much love.”
