FATHER SENTENCED TO 49 YEARS FOR KILLING 16-YEAR-OLD SON IN ST. LOUIS COUNTY
A St. Louis County man has been sentenced to 49 years in prison for the fatal shooting of his 16-year-old son following a family dispute that turned deadly.
Prosecutors said 51-year-old Carl Walker Jr. was convicted in the death of Isaiah Walker, who was shot on Jan. 24, 2024, in the 9000 block of Halls Ferry Road.
According to investigators, the father and son had been arguing over personal matters before leaving their home together in Walker’s vehicle. Authorities said the two were later seen walking back toward the residence when the shooting occurred.
Isaiah was struck by gunfire and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remained in critical condition for several days before dying from his injuries on Jan. 27, 2024.
During the investigation, detectives said Carl Walker Jr. admitted to shooting his son. Investigators also recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the incident.
Walker was ultimately convicted and sentenced to 49 years in prison, bringing the criminal case to a close more than two years after the fatal shooting.
